How I Kicked Acne To The Curb!

How I Kicked Acne To The Curb!

When it comes to my skincare routine I’m a bit OCD. I’ve had acne forever it seems like and I’ve literally tried every product out there that claims to get rid of my acne. It can put a damper on your self-esteem when you’re in your 20’s. You’re like hello I’m not a teen anymore, like get gone! I think I’ve found my top products that actually work for my skin, I’ve used some of these products for years! By adding some dermatologist things and just finding what works for my skin has really paid off. Let me tell you a little about my skin type so maybe it can help. I have sensitive, dry but oily t zone skin. I have enlarged pores and now some acne scars ( I’d rather have acne scares than acne, am I right ladies! ) The worst part about wearing makeup to try and cover acne is when it’s dry and flakey from harsh products and harsh dermatologist products. { I try and only use either organic or all natural products. }

Before I start with the products, Let me tell you all about my skin OCD.

I never ever touch my face, I won’t even rest my hand on my chin.

I own about 50 pillow cases and change them out after each side is used (every 2-4 days)

I drink a lot of water. buying waters is a must to keep me drinking

Never go to sleep with makeup on! Never ever ever.

I always use a clean towel/wash cloth to dry my face after washing.

I always tie my hair up after applying conditioner in the shower (sometimes hair products cause back-acne/chest-acne)

My first step: In the morning I will wash my face with the Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser.

This is the newest to my holy grail products. It really helps to wake up my skin and scrub away my flakes without drying my face out in the morning. It’s a very light scrub, and smells nice too!

Step 2: After I’ve cleansed my skin in the morning ill go in with the Origins Make A Difference Plus Cream.

Now, this moisturizer I’ve used for about 3 years and I’m obsessed! It actually moisturizes my skin and plumps it up. It never clogs my pores or broken me out. This is probably my 10th tub I’ve purchased. Also, I use the Origins Eye Doctor for under my eyes. It’s great before makeup too for when you apply concealer.

My Night Time Steps: Nighttime needs a little more to clean your skin from a long day. I use every night the Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. (also my 100th bottle) I only use to use this for washing my face even in the morning, but I noticed my skin getting a bit dry so that’s when I tried the Ginzing scrub in the A.M and it fixed everything.

I just use a pea size onto my Clarisonic and go to town. My face just always feels so much smoother and softer when using the Clarisonic. The Clarisonic is the best to use at night so that all your products sink better into your skin.

Lavish Nighttime Step: Yes this product isn’t on the cheap side but It’s a nice little step to give your skin that extra moisture, So when you wake up you’re literally glowing! I only use this twice a week to savor the magic. I use two little drops mixed in my palm with my moisturizer and pat on.

Makeup Remover Step: For the days you wear makeup I highly recommend the Elizabeth Dehn One Love Organics Vitamin B Enzym Cleansing Oil. It melts makeup off your face, even the hard crusty mascara. It also makes my face feel like a baby’s bottom!

Dermatologist Step: So when I went to the derm I made sure to tell them that I don’t want anything that will dry me out and give me flakes. He actually listened to me and I found these two products that didn’t make me feel trapped in my flakey skin.

First to apply to my skin is the Sulfacetamide Sodium Topical 10% (lotion) I used a small dot size and smoothed over skin. This helps to kill any bacteria that causes acne.

After I’ve applied that and let it dry I then go in with the Clindamycin Phosphate topical gel 1%, also using a small amount smooth over skin and let dry before applying your moisturizer and eye cream.

One thing I left out in the photos is a medication that I took for a couple months that I think kick started my skin care journey.  I took Doxycycline Monohydrate 1000MG. I took one each day with food.

I truly hope this helps someone because I know it helped me and I’ve tried everything!
